About Mad Monnie!

*mad monnie* designer jewellery & beads is owned and operated by Monica Anthon of Seven Hills in Brisbane. The business started back in 2005 whilst juggling motherhood to 4 year old twins, a full time job, making jewellery at night and conducting jewellery classes on weekends, Monica (Monnie) was told on a number of occasions that she was quite "mad"! hence the name has since stuck and *mad monnie* has evolved.

The desire to create unusual and beautiful pieces of jewellery made from high quality gemstones, pearls, shells, crystal or glass materials, was high on the list of preferred products and have since become her signature style. As a result of her passion for the art of making jewellery, this passion is shared with others through jewellery classes for those who wish to learn this relatively easy craft.

Monnie has now opened a retail outlet in Norman Park (Shop 1 / 296 Wynnum Road – see aerial map on home page) where a large range of freshwater pearls, gemstone beads & other unusual beads can be found & purchased. Monnie also specialises in handmade lampwork art glass beads by local artist Liz Deluca & has a large range of high quality sterling silver & 14k gold fill findings.

Birthday parties can also be arranged by appointment for ages 7 and up. Each party is provided with unique designs depending on the age and the preferences of the birthday girls who will be attending. The price per child is from $25 depending on the content of the kits and travel to the party is included. Sunday mornings are the preferred time for bookings.
